This is a list I started of topics I was interested in for our final project. Please forgive the notation format, when brainstorming, it's best to just let the ideas flow. Although I consider myself an optimist in most things, I am by profession a trouble-shooter and find myself interested in the negative aspects and how I can fix them. I would appreciate any input and especially any positive ideas.
Thanks,
- Cindy

[2] Emoticons or smileys explained.
An Emoticon (or Smiley) is a sequence of ordinary characters you can find on your computer keyboard. Emoticons are used in e-mail, chat, SMS and other forms of communication using computers. The most popular emoticons are the smiling faces (smileys or smilies) that people use to say "don't take what I just wrote too seriously". If you don't see that it represents a smiling face, tip your head to the left and look at it again. The colon represents the eyes, the dash represents the nose, and the right parenthesis represent the mouth.

I think they are all great topics. I think you should pick the one that interests you the most, so that your research and writing will keep your focus and interest through to the end.
ReplyDeleteMaybe pick one of them and then narrow it down a bit so that it's more focused on one very specific idea.
Many of them, I had never even thought of when thinking of topics--such as, web stalking, sexting, and spam--great ideas!
I was definitely going through the same problem (and still kind of am) I think that your best bet, like Kayla said, is to do something that interests you the most, but also something that you can find enough information on. I think all your ideas are really good:
ReplyDeleteYour idea for cyberbullying and the example are good; you can also include how adolescents/ even younger are learning the ways of the internet/social networking and are cyberbullying even younger
I also think your idea for Globalized Markets is a good one. You can include our readings about Globalization very nicely, and can also include how the media has made online shopping is so popular within the last decade. (ie Superbowl commercials for ebay, etc.)
Hope this helped!
Michelle
Thanks Kayla & Michelle! There were so many interesting things to think about. You're right, in the end I picked something that I was interested in (though I didn't really have any experience) and relevant to my field of study. Good luck with your own. :)
