While I tried thinking of some other topic, worried that finding sources for this one would be too difficult, amongst other concerns, I eventually decided that writing a paper about /b/ would just be too much fun not to do. Here's my rough abstract:

Ever seen an adorable picture of a cat with some hilarious caption? Or gone onto youtube.com to watch a video, only to find out it’s actually the music video for “Never Gonna Give You Up” by 80’s one hit wonder Rick Astley? Or are you Sarah Palin, and was your personal email hacked and displayed to the whole world? Well you have a website you’ve probably never heard of before to thank, 4chan.org, and it’s forum /b/. The patrons are witty, know how to use a computer, and anonymus. Of all the groups of people who spend way too much time on their computers, they’re the most dangerous.
