Not a Blogger

This is the first time I've ever blogged. I understand the popularity of it and realize the significance of a media outlet that allows and encourages feedback but I'm not generally a fan. It seems to me blogging follows a couple of different formats; informational blogging (a more interactive form of learning about, say, sports or health); personal blogging (sort of an online diary available to the world); or pseudo-blogging (companies trying to hone in on this popularity and sell you something). If I want information, I look it up. I'm not interested in people's day to day life, I have my own. If I want to buy, I'll go to Amazon. So this type of media doesn't usually work for me.

What I do find useful is its educational applications. I love the idea of distance learning. The fact that you can teach in this format with direct access to pdfs, informational websites and video is wonderful. I can't wait to see how far it goes. This particular Google page interface seems a bit clunky though. It should have a more intuitive search engine within the blog itself and a way to follow your posts and responses better. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. But, hey, you can make money on it with Google AdSense!
