New Thesis: Globalized Sports
I decided to change my thesis from citizen journalism to globalized sports. Although citizen journalism does interest me, I found myself becoming more and more interested in globalized sports, especially because of the 2010 World Cup that is taking place. Through my final project, I hope I can highlight both the pros and cons of globalized sports and elaborate on the impact that it has on our society.

Wow what a great idea. Especially since the world cup just took place. You could def talk about the controversy of the traditional horn that the Europeans and Americans are raising such a fuss about. It would be interesting because there is a lot of youtube videos out there. I would give you a link, but there are so many that it would be so easy for you to find. Entertainment tonight also did a piece on them.
ReplyDeleteYes this should be a very interesting topic. After watching North Korea lose in a respectful way I have gained a new positive outlook on the average North Korean. This display of sportsmanship is often not displayed from other well known teams and thus the North Koreans showed their true character of a very well mannered and disciplined team. Another example of the attitudes to globalized sports can be seen in the reactions to the French team walking out of the tournament. The average French citizen is disgusted and ashamed that the team walked out since they represent their nation. So much public opinion rides on the backs of these international sports teams that they deserve to be discussed.
