How do you know about your world?

For me, the very first sites I go to when I open my laptop is always New York Times and Huffington Post. So why these two sites? Well New York Times is pretty easy to explain. It's up to date, its not too biased and I find it easy to read. New York Times has a motto which is printed in the upper left corner of the paper, "All the news that's fit to print." and I find that to be very true. All the news printed by New York Times is very relevant. I admit I enjoy the technology and travel section the most. Under the technology section I usually read the blogs by the contributors. I find it very exciting, funny and insightful. As for the travel section, I like reading the Time's opinion on what you should do, where you should go and etc. I also like the fact that they don't write about popular locations around the world, but also about places that people have never heard before.

As for Huffington Post, the site is like my little treat. It is a liberal-leaning website. I read on all the sections, but I have to admit I do question from time to time the degree truth behind these stories. The stories written here are very funny, and it is very open-minded about the current affairs. I think that Huffington Post is a great place for people who tend to find reading major news sources tedious, boring and sometimes confusing. I would recommend this site to everyone, I agree it might not be everyone's cup of tea and some might even criticize on the stories accuracy. However I think the idea behind the site is right, it is about letting people keep up with the current affairs in a less mind-numbing way and letting people form their own opinions.
