Hi, my name is Steve Avondolio. I'm a senior mechanical engineering student from Burnt Hills, NY. I'm hoping to graduate this spring and then go onto that ever intimidating job search to start life as a 'real world' adult.
I decided to register for this course for a number of reasons. Firstly, as an ME major, all of my coursework is math and science oriented and I rarely get opportunities to expressively write anymore. Secondly, I'm constantly using the internet for things such as news, networking, socializing, and school work. When reading at my computer, I often find myself wondering about everything from bias and propaganda to web memes and the popularity of youtube videos. I'm hoping this course can give me better insight into these topics as well as give me a chance to learn new things.
