How do i know about the world?

As much as I'd like to say i read the newspaper every morning with a hot cup of coffee, or watch CNN as i wind down the day, i can't. In fact, while at school i feel more disconnection from the real world than i did as a child. At least as a kid, i would hear my parents discussing current events and affairs, but when few people in school actually watch television or read anything other than BU's Pipe Dream, it is difficult to stay updated. Most of whatever i know about the outside world comes from articles i come across using "Stumbleupon" which, although useful and up-to-date, only brings me news and information of my interest, giving me slightly biased view of the world today.
