How do you know about your world?

My favorite online media news outlet is the New York Times website. I prefer this site to other online media outlets because it has a focus on the region that I live in, while also providing news coverage from other parts of the world. I like that I can go onto this website and easily find an article or story that is happening close to me. Although I am mostly interested in local news because I can relate to it, it’s also important to me that I know about the top stories occurring worldwide. At the New York Times homepage, there is a tab labeled “world” which will give the reader access to news stories from other countries. I keep myself updated on world events about once every two weeks, but I read about local events about every other day.

I also visit sports websites on a daily basis, mainly to read about news in soccer. Although the New York Times and other news organizations have sports sections, they do not include much news from the soccer world, so I use different sites. FIFA.com offers news stories in soccer from all over the world, without a focus on a particular region. I mainly follow European soccer so I also go onto UEFA.com which includes stories strictly from Europe.
