When thinking about what my ‘go-to’ news media outlet was, I realized some interesting things about the way I actually view the news. I am not oblivious to the news regarding the government, the war in Iraq, the economy by any means, but it is definitely not the first thing I search. I extremely enjoy keeping up with the sports and teams I am a fan of. Before I made a twitter account over a year ago, the list of daily websites I visited was endless. Twitter had not only gave me the opportunity to pick and choose what I wanted to ‘follow,’ but also a chance to see what various broadcasters, authors and athletes themselves had to say. So with that said, Twitter is my favorite news outlet. To me, Twitter has everything from breaking news, blogs, personal opinion and live-updates, and that is something you cant find from watching a daily news show, reading the paper, or visiting an online website.
