Me, Myself, and I

Hey Global Networkers,

My name is Nimit Patel and I am currently a Junior at BU majoring in Biology and minoring in History. I am pre-med and want to become a doctor, but because of my science class requirements, I do not get the chance to take many non-science classes. I am very interested in computers and would consider many computer-related topics to be hobbies of mine. I found this class looking to fulfill a Global Interdependence Gen Ed and was very intrigued by the subject matter. I am very interested in social networking and the effect social media is having on the community and even its implications worldwide. The Internet has changed the way information is found, shared, and created so much. On all new business websites and business cards (even old ones), I now see "Like Us on Facebook" or "Follow Us On Twitter". Although I am very aware of what is going on with Facebook, YouTube and other social media sites, I am very excited to analyze the current trends through a more focused effort rather than a leisure time activity. Looking forward to learning more about these topics through this class.
