I'm Rachel Brown, a junior Industrial and Systems Engineering major, writing to you from Long Island. Most of the classes I take are more math oriented and I was hoping to broaden my horizons by taking something a little different over winter break. Despite my major, I love to read and write and I'm looking forward to learning about the ways the media affects society in an academic setting because I'll learn things that I would have never thought of on my own. Also, it's my first online class so I'm kind of excited to see what that will be like.
